West Essex Art Society and the Copped Hall Trust
Wildlife Art Competition

We are delighted that The Arts Society West Essex and the Copped Hall Trust have joined together to create a Wildlife Art competition for school children in Years 5 and 6, as part of the Epping Forest Festival.

Message From the Judges

It was a pleasure to be involved in judging this drawing competition. All entries were given much consideration. In particular, we were looking at originality, evidence of a good level of observation, with attention to detail, as well as an ability to represent, suggest or express the character of the chosen creature. We were certainly impressed by the overall high quality and range of the work entered as well as the sense of engagement with the subjects. To acknowledge this level of achievement, we created a joint third prize and also awarded commendations for our final short list. Deserved certificates will be issued to everyone entering work. All the children are to be congratulated for participating, and hopefully, through the experience of drawing, they will have gained a closer appreciation of the fauna of Copped Hall. Our thanks to The Copped Hall Trust and the Art Society West Essex for organising this competition. The fact that such a high standard of work was produced during lockdown shows how the teachers and parents gave great encouragement.

Well done to everyone involved.
