Eric Beaumont is an experienced beekeeper, who manages 40 colonies and is currently chairman of Epping Forest Beekeepers Association.  This workshop will take you inside working beehives to discover the world of the honeybee and its management, demonstrate equipment required by a bee-keeper and give an overview of the bee-keeping year.   The day will end with an extraction of honey from the hive.

Please wear long-sleeved clothing, trousers and wellingtons or sturdy boots. Do not wear perfume, drink alcohol, eat bananas or work with animals prior to attending. Protective bee-keeping clothing will be supplied. This event is weather dependent and if there is a postponement, an alternative day will be offered.
