After last year’s highly successful study day we are happy to confirm the return of Christine Gwynn and Frances Quintrell of Arbutus Music to take us through HMS Pinafore.
Any lover of Gilbert & Sullivan will be delighted that we will be singing their first smash hit. First performed in England in 1878, it ran continuously for 571 performances and has never lost its place in people’s hearts.
Arbutus courses include voice-coaching ideas and tips, with the opportunity to build group singing skills, which will include the option of part-singing for those who wish. All of this will be done in a fun and light-hearted way, so these events are just as suitable for anyone new to group singing as for those more experienced singers who fancy trying new repertoire.
Cost is £30.00 per person including tea or coffee on arrival. Bring your own lunch.
For enrolment contact:
or telephone 01277 651970. Alternatively contact Frances Dennett 07749 397932 (answerphone) or email
Cheques should be made payable to “Arbutus Music” not The Copped Hall Trust.

New for 2015
Gates open at 7.00pm for 7.30 start
Copped Hall gardens are a prime site for moths; a huge range of insects rarely seen by humans because of their nocturnal habits. Peter Warne will set up moth traps to attract these remarkable creatures for us to see and photograph if the fancy takes you. Peter has already run trials in 2014 and knows we can expect a number of night-time visitors. We will set up around 7.30pm and finish by 10pm. Both adults and children are very welcome.
Cost is: adults £8 and children £5.
