Mansion – Cellars, Stables, Ground and First Floor. Gardens – inc Site of Earlier Houses and Walled Garden. Racquets Court. Access to Cellars and 1st Floor of the Mansion is currently via staircase only. Gardens are undulating/uneven lawn surfaces with some paths on a sloping site. The Walled Garden is also on a sloping site. Very limited access currently for wheelchair users.
Welcome to our Autumn family Day. Visitors are able to explore both the Gardens and parts of the Mansion, including the Stables and cellars, at their leisure. There are no guided tours but Room Stewards will on hand to answer questions and there will be “10 minute Introductory Talks” in the mansion. Tea, coffee, home-made cakes, light lunches and a licensed bar will be available. The Church’s barbeque is also planned. There are stalls, home-grown produce for sale and other attractions including a straw castle for children (of all ages) and Johnny Slap.
In addition, there are exhibitions on site, including a Honey Show by the Epping Forest Beekeepers ,the ever popular second hand book shop and the Trust shop will also be open.
Please bring cash as we do not have credit card facilities at present.
