Access to Cellars and 1st Floor of the Mansion is currently via staircase only. Gardens are undulating/uneven lawn surfaces with some paths on a sloping site. The Walled Garden is also on a sloping site. Very limited access currently for wheelchair users.
Our Guided Tours on 25th July will be in three parts – upstairs, downstairs and garden, each lasting no more than an hour. Visitors can take as many tours as they wish. Gates open at 10.00am; last entry at 1.00pm. It will also give our Friends the opportunity to catch up on all the changes that have occurred since lock-down!
Visitors are accompanied by experienced guides throughout who will explain the rich history of Copped Hall. The tours will cover the whole of the Gardens, including the sites of the earlier houses, the Walled Garden and a large part of the existing Mansion. Light lunches will be served between 12 noon and 2pm and ea, Coffee and home made cakes are available through till 4pm. The car park will be closed at 4.30pm. There is also our shop selling books about Copped Hall and a range of other items. In addition, there are exhibitions on site and our, ever popular, second hand book shop. We will also be selling plants, seasonal fruit and vegetables from the Walled Garden.
Please Note, This Extended Guided Tour Day is a ticketed event. Several time slots are available for entry, but once on site you are allowed to stay until we close. The time slots for entry are shown on Ticketsource.
