Mansion – The Second and Third (Attic) Floors.
Access to the Second and Third Floors is currently via a series of staircases only. These tours are unsuitable for those with mobility problems. There is NO requirement to climb ladders. You will NOT experience exposed heights. Dogs are NOT allowed in the Mansion.
The tour will be of the second and third (Attic Floors) of the mansion that are currently undergoing restoration works. Two Tours on each day; 10.00am and 11.00am. Only 6 visitors per tour. These tours are only suitable for those that have already attended previous Guided Tour Days. They will be of particular interest to Friends of the Copped Hall Trust. Newcomers to Copped Hall are recommended to attend the general Guided Tours first.
Visitors are accompanied by an experienced guide and safety steward who will take to the areas of the mansion very few people have seen. You will see the considerable progress of the works on these upper floors and truly appreciate the scale of the mansion and the restoration challenges.
Visitor numbers are strictly limited to 6 visitors on each tour. Each tour will last approximately 1 hour. There will be only 2 tours on each Guided Tour Day. Visitors should be on site at 10.00am for the first tour and 11.00am for the second tour.
The first tour will start at 10.10am and the second tour will start at 11.30 am. Tours will need to depart promptly. You will not be able to join the tour after it commences so unfortunately latecomers cannot be accommodated.
Tea, Coffee and home-made cakes will be available on conclusion of the first tour at around 11.15am. Those attending the second tour will have their refreshments before embarking on the tour, from 11.00am to the start of their tour at 11.30am.
Visitors will be provided with a Hard Hat and a Hi-Viz Gillet. Nitrile gloves will be offered to visitors as well as hand sanitizer and disposable masks. Visitors should wear sensible shoes and warm clothing, suitable for a dusty environment. You will, as per a normal Guided Tour Day, be able to visit our shop selling books about Copped Hall, a range of other items and, of course, our second-hand book shop.
